Yow. Zah. This press release just in:

Omni Hotels & Resorts announced today a culinary partnership with renowned Dallas-based chef, Nick Badovinus. Through this collaboration, Badovinus will lend his expertise in freestanding dining concepts to further infuse regional and national trends with local flavors for Omni’s hotel and resort restaurants and initiatives.

I asked the PR department for details: ” He is consulting for the brand. For example, his first two projects are menu consultation for Kitchen Notes in the new Omni Nashville Hotel (opens next Monday); and he will work with Omni on its brand roll-out of its new kids menu.”

Omni has an exceptional culinary reputation and is ranked by J.D. Power as #1 in guest satisfaction for the food and beverage category. Badovinus will enhance this distinction with his knack for flavor profiling and spotting trends. His first initiative for the brand begins with menu consultation for Kitchen Notes, the music city-inspired Southern cooking restaurant opening on September 30, in the new Omni Nashville Hotel. He will also work with Chef Cheryl Forberg, Omni’s brand nutritionist, to create a new Omni Kids menu.

“Our partnership with Chef Badovinus is exciting for Omni as we continue to evolve our culinary program,” said David Morgan, vice president of food and beverage at Omni Hotels & Resorts. “His reputation as a highly creative tastemaker complements our holistic approach to authentic and unique dining experiences.”

Omni’s award-winning programs include Flavors of the World, Homegrown Cocktails and The Art of Breakfast, and popular signature restaurants such as Bob’s Steak & Chop House, 676 in Chicago and The Rib Room in New Orleans. Badovinus will consult with the brand as its culinary offerings grow with a number of new hotel projects.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Omni Hotels & Resorts to offer guests a delicious and interesting culinary adventure that will help transform their experience with the brand,” said Badovinus. “The opportunities are endless given the breadth of interesting and diverse dining concepts and ideas that Omni has to offer.”

Badovinus, the owner of FlavorHook, is a chef and tastemaker behind a number of Dallas hotspots, including “Off-Site Kitchen,” “Neighborhood Services” and “The Tried and True.” In June, D Magazine named “Neighborhood Services” number one on its “The 100 Best Restaurants in Dallas” list. In 2010 when he opened “Neighborhood Services Tavern” and “Neighborhood Services Bar & Grill,” both were named two of the top five new restaurants in Dallas / Fort Worth by D Magazine; the latter was named “Restaurant of the Year” by the publication. Badovinus was formerly a vice president at Consilient Restaurants and is a two-time James Beard Award semi-finalist for “Outstanding Restaurateur.”
