Whelp, Zoli’s crashed and burned pretty quickly on its opening day. By 6:30 p.m. – only 1.5 hours after it unleashed its pizza prowess – Jay Jerrier’s NY-style pizza tavern decided to close for the night. From the Facebook page:

“Hello All – well tonight was a disaster. 5 minutes before we opened, our computer system crashed. The reboot caused chaos with the ordering process. Because of this, along with new staff, and large crowds we made the decision to shut things down early. We’re retooling things tonight to get the systems fixed and the menu streamlined. We’ll open at 5pm on Wednesday. We apologize for any inconvenience or problems this caused for everyone!”

In the meantime, enjoy these food porn photos of Zoli’s pizza.

Today marks the big opening day for Mi Piaci Park Cities. Goodbye, Ocho! Hello, Mi Piaci! Now all you Mi Piaci Addison-lovers can stop being so grouchy.

On a more sober note, Jimmy’s Food Store owner, James E. DiCarlo, died this past Sunday at the age of 92. The Dallas Morning News reports that services for DiCarlo will be held on Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, starting at 10 a.m. This is a huge loss for the family, and our thoughts go out to everyone at Jimmy’s.
