Iron Chef Watching Party: Let the Hangover Begin

|
Image

img_00671.JPGLast night I went to Abacus restaurant to watch the Rathbun brothers battle Bobby Flay (still hot) on Iron Chef America (check out Kent Rathbun’s new website here). They won! And to celebrate, I had approximately 100 glasses of wine. Go, me.
The secret ingredient was elk, and they served us the same dishes that they made on the show–my favorite was the elk sausage served inside a Manchego grougere (basically a cheese puff). When they were announced as winners, I tried to take a pic of everyone cheering, but it didn’t work out that well, as you can see to the left.

Since it was Sunday, my friend Tom and I figured we needed to take it easy. He had a 7:30am flight this morning, and I was exhausted from the weekend. Well…that didn’t happen. We ended up hanging out in the bar with Kent and his crew until after midnight. Somehow, he looked and sounded fine on Good Morning Texas this morning, while it has taken me approximately two hours just to write this. Good party though.
