Sticking to the theme of bright and bold from my last post, I pulled together a quick DIY for one of my bedside table lamps to share with you today.

How can I put this nicely? I strongly disliked the look of said bedside lamp and had all the intention to discard it and purchase a new one. Its days in my home were ominously numbered… or so I thought.

But then, while at Dallas Market earlier this Summer, I was introduced to Amy Howard and her inspiring message of “Rescue, Restore, Redecorate” – sentiments I can definitely get behind. Amy holds the opinion that very little in our home, or life for that matter, is trash. In fact, there’s a hidden treasure in much of what we already own! It’s simply a matter of discovering that potential and using a smidge of your proverbial elbow grease to create a transformation. Amy was kind enough to send me a couple bottles of spray paint from her collection of Amy Howard at Home refinishing productsAnd so, what was originally destined for the dump got a second chance thanks to Amy Howard.

Here’s how I took my lamp from old and stogy to bright and cheerful. Follow the simple steps below, and you can do the same in your home too!
