One of my favorite products is coming to a store near you—Flor carpet tiles. This was previously such a “contract application—architects only” domain, I’m excited to see this cool and versatile prodcut “out on the street” as we say in the trade, (rather I say, probably no one else does.) In 2009, Gensler and Co specified Flor for D Magazine’s new office hallways here at 2100 St. Paul. We liked it so much that we designed a custom rug to define a seating area in the lobby, so you can see it’s practically impossible to mess this up. Check out the grand opening of the new Flor store at 4528 McKinney Avenue on Thursday, July 21 from 6—8 and see for yourself how creative you can be, and how many looks you can create for a reasonable price with mostly re-cycled products. All good—except for possibly my headline for this post.
