It’s another slow summer weekend in the world of Dallas art. which makes it a perfect time for Dallas Gallery Day. Founded in 2011 as East Dallas Gallery Day, the event has been expanded, dropping its neighborhood-specific branding and offering an excuse to roll through as many as 30 galleries that will be open all day for the event.
The only gallery mounting a new show for the occasion is Kirk Hopper, which opens a summer group show called “Swelter.” Artists in that show include Alejandro Diaz-Ayala, Martin Delabano, Carlos Donjuan, Keri Olham, Eduardo Portillo, Annette Lawrence, Ed Blackburn, Linda Blackburn, Sebastien Boncy, Shayne Murphy and Michael Reeder.
