Corne August, the eternal conflict renews itself. It is not, as we learned in English Lit, Man vs. Man, or even Man vs. Nature. It is even more tempestuous: Child vs. Parent over What to Wear to School. Kids, on one hand, seek comfort above all else, namely in their well-worn jeans and tennies. But Mom and Dad, for some inexplicable reason, insist on presentability. As this sampling of fall children’s wear indicates, a compromise between comfort and looks can be reached.
