Fort Worth’s minor-league soccer team the Vaqueros will host Fang Night on Sunday in honor of soccer wizard and chronic masticator Luis Suarez. Suarez bit an Italian player while his Uruguay squad played in the opening round of the World Cup Tuesday.
“The World Cup can be filled with magical moments of skill but the pageantry of the tournament also includes those ridiculous moments of absurdity that add another layer of color,” said Tobias Xavier Lopez, Vaqueros director of business operations. “Luis Suarez just joined Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ goal or Zidane’s headbutt in the lore of wonderfully outrageous moments.”
Any fan sporting their own fangs will get into the game for free, and the first 50 fans will receive free fangs, provided they attend team owner Michael Hitchcock’s pre-game barbecue.
