K-104 Unveils New Morning Show With Worst Name Ever

|

I once profiled Hymen Childs, the very media-shy owner of K104. He’s a radio genius — or he was a radio genius. If you, like me, remember the days when Skip Murphy and Company ruled the morning airwaves, then you’ll scratch your head when I tell you what the name of the just-announced new morning show is. Ready. It’s The Crazy Azz Morning Show, hosted by Dede McGuire. I swear to you, when I saw that name, I checked to make sure it wasn’t April Fool’s Day yet. Full release after the jump.

Dallas, Texas // March 29, 2011 // — Service Broadcasting Corporation Program Director, Geo Cook, announced today that De De McGuire is the new host for “The Crazy Azz Morning Show” on K104 (KKDA-FM). Cook commented “De De is one of the most talented personalities in the business. Her crazy sense of humor, great timing, and unique ability to relate to our listeners is what makes her perfect to lead this morning show. ”

De De said, “This is a dream come true. I know this is a rare opportunity for a woman, and I’m very thankful for this chance to sit in the big chair. I am confident in the team we have at K104, and look forward to reaching number one”.

De De McGuire’s career includes stops in Chicago and Philadelphia and she’s currently the co-host on a syndicated afternoon show with Doug Banks. As host of “The Crazy Azz Morning Show” weekdays on K104, she’s joined by Lady Jade and Kevvy Kev for lots of laughs, conversations with listeners, the latest gossip and great music.

K104 plays a mix of Hip Hop and R&B from artists like Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Drake, Lil’ Wayne, Trey Songz, and Beyonce. You can also listen on line at K104FM.com.
