Hold On To Your Effin Hat

Al Dia Going To Two-Day-A-Week Schedule

|

And this is good news, not hold-on-to-your-hat news, according to the DMN memo. Right. As they say in the Spanish-language version of Wedding Crashers, “Incorrecto! Incorrecto!”

To All Al Día and Dallas Morning News employees,
I want to let you know about some important changes at Al Día that will become effective next week.  These changes are being made to leverage Al Día’s strengths and address today’s economic realities.
The first and most visible change is to our distribution – Al Día will move to a two-day schedule, publishing on Wednesdays and Saturdays for home delivery.  These are the days that offer readers the greatest value and are most important to advertisers.  By moving to two days a week, we can produce Al Día more efficiently and continue offering it to readers free of charge.  The Saturday edition will be available in single copy racks and its expanded content will have a shelf life that lasts all week.
At Al Día, we are dedicated to covering the issues and topics that are most important to our readers. We have added Agencia Reforma, the largest printed media company in Mexico and Latin America, to supplement our already award-winning local and regional content.
Al Día remains the largest Spanish-language news and information source in North Texas. Our weekly Wednesday and Saturday distribution is more than 215,000 and we reach an average readership of 365,500.
Al Día will offer advertisers even more opportunities for unparalleled penetration of the Hispanic market.

Aldiatx.com: Our=2 0online audience has doubled over the past year, and is growing rapidly.

  • Market Place: Our newly revamped classified section taps into the expanding Hispanic consumer base.
· Total Market Coverage: Advertisers can choose the areas they want to reach based on the needs of their business.
  • Al Día Events: We have more than 100 events planned for 2009, including COPA Al Día, our youth soccer tournament in June.
  • Coming soon – Al Día Mobile: We will be able to greatly expand our advertisers’ reach to target their audiences wherever they are.
Al Día will continue finding ways to remain an important resource for the Spanish-speaking community in North Texas, and creating marketing solutions for the advertisers who want to reach them.
