You know, I hate myself for even typing that, though probably not so much as either of the conflated namesakes. But since this election-as-referendum was kind of a light-hearted jousting anyway, I’ll go with the flow.

That said, my extremely erudite and dashing boss makes a good point about the numbers weighing against a Trinity petition, although as several of you have reminded us, a vote for or against a particular candidate isn’t at all necessarily a vote for or against the Trinity project or petition. But it may represent at least a tendency.

As for the very determined and far more dashing Ms. Hunt, she called in this morning, because she misses me a lot, to say that in fact she is very confident in the progress of the petition based on the response Saturday, when, she says, the drive picked up a lot of new signatures.

My thought: If 47,800 certified signers are produced by the end-of-June deadline, and the final tally isn’t Zac-Crained, then hell yes, let’s vote on this puppy. If not, Wick and Tim have already bought shovels and pick axes at Lowe’s and snazzy workgear from the Dickies catalog. The shovels are for the river bottom. The picks are for Schutze.
