This is my third season of raising bluebirds in East Texas. The first year, I raised two broods and fledged four birds. Last year, three broods yielded twelve chicks. This year, parents Bill and Hillary got an early start–they laid four eggs two weeks earlier than last. They’ve already fledged but are now returning to my multi-million dollar mealworm feeding station for free snacks. We could squeeze in four broods this year. Wonder if I’ll get any work done today.
