STELLA MCCARTNEY COMES TO DALLAS

|

Some of you are only familiar with the last name of Paul McCartney’s daughter, but all you fashionistas out there know her as the young, hip fashion designer who led fashion house, Chloe to its commercial success and has been creating her own collection, Stella McCartney, since 2001. The British babe made a special appearance last night at Neiman Marcus NorthPark along with her fall 2006 collection. Extra even came down to cover the fashionable fete. And what an event it was. To read more, click below.

The Carter High School band and cheerleading squad greeted guests as they walked the blue (yes, I said blue) carpet that led into the courtyard of NorthPark. Male models in tiny-winy bathing suits, cowboy hats, and denim shirts frolicked in the fountains while the women stood on platforms to display Stella McCartney’s fall collection (think: over-sized sweaters, cropped tailored jackets, silk georgette dresses, asymmetrical necklines, and ankle boots). The chic crowd gathered for a glimpse of the English designer while sipping champagne and martinis and munching on vegetarian (Stella is a strict one and reportedly demands no meat at her events) hors d’oeuvres. Ken Downing escorted Stella around the room and though the designer made an appearance, (she mingled a bit with the crowd) she left many Dallasites wanting more.

I hear she likes Dallas and would definitely visit again. Perhaps there is a return appearance in the future?

I did sit down with Stella this afternoon for a brief interview in which she discussed her line and her strong feelings against animal cruelty. Look for the interview tomorrow on FrontBurner.
