When a Mexican grocery store closes, they are less likely to lose money. For, when they open again, chances are that when their customers return they are likely to spend the same amount of money on groceries. However, when a restaurant closes for a day, people do not turn up the next day and eat two #10s. So, those who didn’t show up for work at restaurants hurt the businesses that pay their salaries. Don’t get me wrong, I support the right to protest–lord knows I did my fair share and continue to do so when I feel the need. But, I can see the tough decision many restaurant owners–especially of Mexican food joints–faced. It was a lose-face/lose-money situation. So, instead of getting uppity, go eat a few tacos today. Or do this!
