Harriet Miers is back at work, casting aspersions on Wick’s rumor that she might run for mayor of Dallas. She’s not because, for one, she’s too busy joking with Supreme Court nominee Samuel A. Alito Jr.
The night before Bush announced Alito as the nominee, Alito met with White House types and wondered if he should wear eyeglasses to both the announcement and the confirmation hearings. Miers told him just “don’t wear eyeliner.”
