Need a post-lunch pick-me-up? We have just the thing.

Our annual Cutest Pets in Dallas competition has finally begun for 2021. We asked passionate pet owners across North Texas to submit adorable images of their dogs, cats, bunnies, turtles, and other four-legged friends. Now, all 1,000 of those entrants can be admired here.

Get ready to fawn over pets like Albus Dumbledog the Maltipoo, Frenchie Toast the Holland Lop bunny, Stevie Licks the Aussie mix, Blanche Devereaux the ragdoll cat, and Peppa the potbelly pig.

The main voting page will randomly show you a pet. If you’re smitten by the furry friend that appears, click “Vote” to submit a vote for him. To see another pet, click “Next.”

You can also browse alphabetically. If your friend entered Bella the beagle, just click “B” to find her. If you submitted your own pet, you can find them that way, too. Don’t forget to share your pet’s unique voting link with family and friends.

Vote as often as you like, as many times as you like, through June 22. Click here to get started.

How are the winners determined?

The top 20 pets with the most votes will move on to the final round of judging. From there, our esteemed panel of pet-expert judges featuring our editorial staff and past D Best winners will weigh in. Pets will be judged on the photo received, level of cuteness, and creativity of the bio submitted. The panel will not know the “Readers’ Choice” winner in advance of the judging session.

Each of the top 20 pets will receive a complimentary faux cover that will be sent via email in addition to a printed 8 ½ x 11 faux cover. The Readers’ Choice winner is simply the pet with the most total votes.

What do the winners get?

  1. A professional photoshoot with a D Magazine photographer.
  2. A full page in the September issue of D Magazine featuring a photo selected from the photoshoot
  3. An Instagram post on D Magazine’s Instagram, broadcast to more than 183,000 followers.
