THUMBSUP to RANDY MOCK, executive director of the Dallas Nature Center, and RICK LOESSBERG, director of the county’s Planning and Development Department, for their efforts to save 1, 000 acres of the Mountain Creek Escarpment. The limestone cliffs, thought to be 65 million years old, are one of the last semi-wild spots left in our burgeoning urban area. The county commissioners have also helped by lobbying the feds to donate or sell the land to them instead of to developers.
