Learn How to Revamp Your Ikea Pieces with O’verlays

|

Upon first glance you may not notice that all four of the pieces you see above are from the Swedish ready-to-assemble mega-store Ikea. All it took was a fresh coat of paint and some O’verlays to take the looks from simple to glamorous, drab to fab, plain to interesting. You get it. But, maybe you’re not versed in DIY or Ikea? You’re in luck. Our friends at Dwell With Dignity are offering a course with Cheryle Rhuda, co-founder of the decorate fretwork panels, for a hand-on workshop at The New Life Hardwoods building in the Design District on Tuesday, November 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A suggested donation of $100 holds you spot (you can donate an extra $50 to sponsor a DwD resident to attend). You will work on a 12×12 mirror and you can take it with you to find a place in your home. Wine and appetizers will be served. All proceeds from the class benefit Dwell with Dignity, whose mission is to “bring good design to those less fortunate, inspiring them to maintain a standard of living they can be proud of and thrive in.” All you have to do is hit “Donate Now” on the website.
