….here. A little behind the scenes set up for you: four editors, two art directors, and one intern scout the city – from North Dallas to Oak Cliff, from Highland Park to East Dallas – to find the ten standout beauties you see in the pages of the July/August D Home. We drive around towns with our iPhone cameras in tow. We stalk real estate sites. We tear out sale ads in newspapers. Yes, that was us parked in front of your house trying to get the best vantage point from our car window. Once we’ve racked up miles and miles on our cars, we head back to the office and print out our finds. We have no piles, yes piles, maybe piles, let’s come back to that house piles. We all fight for our favorites. And eventually we narrow down the stack to the ten you see in the magazine. I’ve included my favorite here. You’ve probably driven past the historical Tudor homes in the M Streets ‘hood, but keep going east on Mercedes just before you hit Abrams. The lots get a little wider, the houses a little bigger, and you run into a handful of “I didn’t know these houses existed” houses. (Don’t you love when that happens?) This David R. Williams-designed home was built in 1927. It features 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and a single tall tree that sits next to the front door. Do you have a favorite house in Dallas? Tell us!
