FDA says go ahead and mix those COVID-19 shots. Southwest have until Nov. 24 to get the jab.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported a three-day total of 1,041 new COVID-19 cases and 21 deaths on Tuesday.


The FDA plans to allow mixing and matching COVID-19 booster shots, The Dallas Morning News reports. FDA’s advisers didn’t vote on recommending mixing and matching boosters but advised the government to allow flexibility, saying there aren’t any safety red flags. A mixing and matching ​​example would be, taking a Pfizer booster shot after receiving the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine.


CDC study shows Pfizer vaccine 93% effective at preventing hospitalization in children ages 12-18, FOX 4 reports. The recent study on the Pfizer two-dose vaccine included adolescents at 19 pediatric hospitals in 16 states. FOX 4 reports as of Oct. 18, 46% of U.S. children aged 12–15 years and 54% of those aged 16–17 years have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the CDC.


Southwest Airlines employees have until Nov. 24 for full COVID vaccination or to apply for an exemption but will be paid as requests are reviewed, CBS reports. Southwest Airlines is a federal contractor and must comply with President Biden’s COVID Action Plan that states unless employees have an official exemption, it is mandatory for federal employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccination by Dec. 8. Earlier this month Southwest announced that to continue employment, vaccination against COVID-19 was needed or exemption approved.
