Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth participated in the Match Day for the first time in its 91-year history, and will soon host three residents, who will start on July 1. The general surgery trainees will be taking part in the five-year residency program, the hospital’s first foray into graduate medical education. Eventually the hospital will host 15 residents.


UT Southwestern Medical Center is No. 3 in the nation on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers For New Graduates, making it in the top 1 percent among all academic medical centers. Forbes and market research company Statista survey 20,000 Americans with less than 10 years of professional experience at employers with 1,000 employees. The employees rank their employer on safety, opportunity for advancement, diversity programs and company image.


SmartLight Analytics named Bill Young to its team of analytics and clinical experts, and he will be the new head of the clinical operations. Young brings 20 years of federal healthcare fraud investigative experience to SmartLight Analytics, which helps self-funded employers eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse.


Christus Health broke ground on their new Irving headquarters earlier this month. The 456,000 square-foot, 15 story office building will be at the corner of N. O’Connor Blvd. and W. Las Colinas Blvd. Irving, on a 4.2-acre parcel of land.


Caris Life Sciences has entered a collaboration with Elevation Oncology, a New York-based clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on precision medicine. The partnership hopes to leverage genomic data to discover and develop therapeutics targeting these newly identified alterations.
