Texas Health Presbyterian's $60 million renovation, Medical City's nursing partnership with UT Arlington, and more.

The Margot Perot Center for Women and Infants on the campus of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is undergoing a $60 million renovation with design work by HKS and a complete overhaul of the labor and delivery unit and operating rooms. The project will include new designs for patient floors and public areas, including the inpatient post-surgical unit, triage unit, postpartum unit, concierge suites, elevators and entrances, and will be done in 2023.


Tenet Healthcare Corp. subsidiary United Surgical Partners International scored four or five stars in 22 of 23 eligible surgical hospitals in the most recent Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems star ratings released by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The ratings are based on patient surveys about physician communications, responsiveness of staff to patient needs, facility cleanliness and if a patient would recommend the facility.


The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation and Medical City Fort Worth are partnering to utilize practicing nurses as preceptors in the Dedicated Education Unit program, which is designed to expand the number of nursing educators. The program allows nursing students to work with assigned mentors and get hands-on experience with immediate feedback.


Healthcare executive Paul Kappelman will serve on the board of directors for on-demand health staffing company Sadiant Health. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field, and is currently a senior advisor to McKinsey and Company and several private equity firms.


Specialty management services company U.S. Oral Surgery Management has established a new partnership with WestShore OMS Specialists, an oral and maxillofacial surgery  practice with two locations in southwest Florida. It is USOSM’s first official partner in the state, bringing the total number of states to 11 in the network.  USOSM has also named two oral surgeons to the USOSM Clinical Governance Board. Dr. Gordon Brady of Oral Surgery Associates & Dental Implant Centers and Dr. Vincent E. Montgomery of Oral and Maxillofacial Associates LLC will begin their initial two-year term immediately.
