Things To Do In Dallas Tonight: Aug. 1

Have beard, will travel.

If it’s been awhile since you visited the Dallas Museum of Art, this year’s best museum pick, perhaps tonight is your night.

Here’s why. The museum is open nice and late, there’s the usual Thursday night jazz in the atrium, and to top all that off, this evening marks the beginning of an indoor, air conditioned summer film series inspired by their exhibit of Greek and Roman sculpture. Every Thursday in August, the DMA will screen a different epic, starting with the 1954 version of Homer’s Ulysses. Film tickets are $5 and can be purchased via the museum’s website or at the visitor desk after 3 p.m.

Also tonight, rapper Lil B, a man of diverse following and artistry, performs in Dallas for the first time at Prophet Bar. Just for fun, let’s revisit his lecture last year at my alma mater, NYU. Now go grab a ticket for an up-close-and-personal look at just what social media savvy can do. Tickets are $22 and still available online.
