Welcome to your strange, short week. Fourth of July approacheth. But you have a few days to slog through first.
The Highland Park Film Festival, part of the town’s centennial celebration, offers a screening of Yankee Doodle Dandy, just to prime the pump for Thursday. The 1940s classic is a biographical musical about the life of Broadway star George M. Cohan, proving once and for all that real Americans love show tunes.
Also this evening, Rachael Yamagata will help you express your excess emotion with a show at Sons of Hermann Hall. Tickets are $20, and still available online. Sanders Bohlke supports. Post show options include the Double Wide and Black Swan Saloon.
