Cherith Valley Gardens is a family owned and operated business located in Fort Worth. The company launched nearly 30 years ago when owner, Alan Werner, lost his oil company in a market crash and began gardening his own vegetables to help feed the family. The garden grew to such excess that the family began to jar the overflow and give away as gifts. That eventually turned into creating a line of hot and spicy pickled vegetables, salsas, jellies, spirited fruits, dipping sauces, and condiments. And in 1993, they began to sell to the public.

In that time, Cherith Valley Gardens has won several awards and has even been featured in national publications such as, Men’s Health and Food & Wine Magazine. The Cherith Valley Hot ‘n Spicy Corn Relish is one of my favorite products. The combination of the relish with two cans of black-eyed peas is perfect for making a quick and easy batch of Texas Caviar. You can also combine a jar with a carton of sour cream for an excellent party dip. The company now carries more than 20 products and shares recipes for each on their website and Facebook page.
