Lakewood Brewing Co.’s Seduction Series is quite elusive. Even when we give you a heads-up as to where you can find these sexy, limited releases, they usually get dranked up before you can get your hands on them. Well, some of you must be getting them because I sure haven’t had any luck. And now, just in time for Cinco De Mayo, Lakewood Brewery is unleashing the Latin-lover in all of us with the latest Mole Temptress. The Temptress, which we all know and love, has been fiddled with again in light of the Mexican festivities that are soon to light a party fire in all your exposed mid-drifts. They’ve added four chiles (ancho, chiopotle, guajillo, and pasilla), as well as Indonesian vanilla and cinnamon, and Venezuelan chocolate. I was lucky enough to taste the Mole Temptress, and it’s a fine match for the holiday. There is an invigorating heat that lingers and demands attention all over your mouth. The vanilla and cinnamon are subtle, while the chocolate is mostly notable in its aroma. The beer shines where the spices pull the Temptress out from its dense, milk sweetness, adding a refreshing kick that is perfectly suitable for this warm weather. Be safe and live free.
