Finding a pair of shoes that mange to be chic and dressy (chic and dressy being two totally different enterprises) and comfortable is challenge, to say the least… But finding a pair of shoes that’s chic and dressy and that you can walk in/stand on your feet for hours on end with zero pain?
Total pipe dream.
Trust me friends, I’ve tried (many, many times), as most days I’m doing something kid-related (comfort) and something work-related (chic and dressy), with no time for a shoe/outfit switch in between. Up until now, my quest for the elusive dream shoe has been a massive fail. But I’m nothing if not persistent, so earlier this spring I nabbed a couple of different pairs of genius heel-wedge hybrids at Zara. I had high hopes for these babies, and they did not disappoint.
The bit of a heel makes them a little dressier (and a little more chic), and that wedge is pretty much comfort central. I donned them earlier this week when I had to go from an interview (chic) to chaperoning a four-hour school field trip at the DMA (comfy) to an afterwork event (dressy).
Success.
