Keena Bonella, a Miss Colorado USA winner and 2007 Miss USA contestant, is opening an apparel store in West 7th. Called Keena’s, the boutique will sell trendy clothing, including jeans and tops. It’s slated to open at 2956 Crocket Street later this year.

The 1,463-square-foot shop will occupy a new building within West 7th, a 13-acre retail, residential, and office development near the intersection of University Drive and W. 7th Street.

West 7th has had several high-profile retailers sign on for space this year. Bowling chain Lucky Strike opened its first North Texas location at the development in May, and In-N-Out is set to open its first Fort Worth location there sometime soon. Randa McMinn, vice president of marketing for Cypress Equities, was not able to give an exact date for the California burger chain’s opening.

West 7th is a joint venture between Cyprus Equities, which develops the retail and office components, and Columbus Realty Partners Ltd., which handles residential.

Bonella decided to open the shop in Fort Worth after touring the country in search of a location. She said in a statement that it was the ideal location, due to the city’s “eclectic mix of people.”

David Thomas of The Retail Connection and Rodger Chieffalo of Chieffalo Realty represented both the retailer and the landlord in the transactions.
