Jay Parsons has found a gold mine up north. First, there was that story about the town of Clark, named after L.E. Clark, who was the mayor until the son of a Clark foe unseated him by just a few votes. Today, Parsons comes through again with this story about Olive Stephens, the 88-year-old, 17-term mayor of Shady Shores. The latter doesn’t have quite the narrative twists of the former, but it’s still a good read.
