Kudos to Jay Parsons, who pretty much nailed this story about the little town of Clark on the western part of Denton County. Bill Merritt, a 30-year-old Dallas lawyer, moved up to Clark to unseat the 71-year-old mayor L.E. Clark, the guy who founded the town about five years ago and who had several run-ins with Bill’s dad Mitch. Merritt won by one vote. The town’s divided. The story’s too good to miss.
