By the way, not to go all movie critic on you, but I highly recommend Mad Hot Ballroom, the documentary about New York public-school fifth-graders preparing for a citywide competition in ballroom dancing. For one thing, the movie is playing at the Angelika, which we all know has super stadium-style seating, delicious concessions, and a pleasing atmosphere. For another thing, the movie is flat-out good–funny, heart-warming, heart-wrenching. I laughed; I cried. Watch clips of it for yourself here, but if you’re only going to watch one of them, check out Wilson and Elsamelys dancing the Rumba. Homeboy has skillz.
