Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,119  new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths on Friday.


After rising for a few days, the number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals was down a bit on Sunday, with 3,119 COVID-19 patients in North Texas hospitals, DFW Hospital Council CEO Steve Love reports. That is still 23.2 percent of available bed capacity and 51.7 percent of adult ICU patients.

Biden administration officials say that half of U.S. adolescents ages 12 to 17 have gotten at least their first COVID-19 vaccine, WFAA reports. The vaccination rate among teenagers is growing faster than among any other age group, and contributing to critical progress, says White House coronavirus coordinator Jeff Zients.
