The end of the pandemic and the recovering economy are resulting in a record of number of quits, as four million people quit their jobs in April, according to federal data. The Dallas Morning News has more.


Forty percent of Texans are vaccinated and the state’s average daily deaths are the lowest they have been in a year, the Texas Tribune reports.


During the pandemic, Black Americans were the victims of opioid overdose deaths at a much higher rate that Whites, according to KERA. The opioid epidemic is often depicted as a rural White problem, but the issue is pervasive nationwide.
