Eclectic Elegance is the best way to describe this recent project by Pulp Design Studios. Pulp founders Carolina Gentry, RID, NCIDQ, and Beth Dotolo, RID, ASID, NCIDQ, were tasked with getting this 6,700-square-foot Park Cities home live-in ready in only a few months before the family’s three children started school. The home needed architectural selections, paint, flooring, and furnishings in addition to curating the clients’ art collection throughout the home so that everything—old, sentimental, and new—appeared seamless and pulled together. Pulp went to work, making smart renovation and furnishings choices that beautifully transformed each room, resulting in an artful home that exudes livable luxury and features delightful surprises at every turn.
“This home had to be extremely livable because the owners have three children and several dogs,” Gentry says. “They also had a lot of artwork they loved and wanted to mix into the new design. We were able to showcase their personalities by carefully and creatively curating their artwork and vintage finds throughout the home. We loved their collection of found items that were special to them or pieces they picked up when traveling. The goal was to create a home that would become a reflection of themselves while telling a story from room to room. It needed to be an inviting, elegant home where guests could come over and not be afraid to prop their feet up.”
The homeowners are both from Florida, so bringing the outdoors in was important to them. There is an effortless coastal vibe throughout the home to achieve this feel, punctuated by an indoor/outdoor room with a large sliding glass door to give the feeling of being both in a garden and inside an elegant home all at once. “It’s an easy-breezy living vibe throughout,” Gentry says.
