I love my girlies with every fiber of my being… But (you knew there was a ‘but’ coming), after a 16 day winter break, I’m not quite ready for them to have another day off from school. Luckily my friends at Oil And Cotton are coming to the rescue. The Oak Cliff art studio is offering two half-day art camps for ages 5-12 designed to get the littles flexing their creative muscles as they honor the late Martin Luther King Jr.

The first session, dubbed “Dream in Paint,” goes from 9-12 and leads kids through paining their responses to King’s “I have a dream” speech. The second camp entitled “Blueprint of My Life” runs from 1-4 and focuses on creating abstract sculptures inspired by a speech King delivered to junior high kids about laying the groundwork for the future life you want.

Each camp is $40. You can pick one or sign up for both and let the kids stay for lunch.

Shannon and Kayli, I owe you one…
