five questions – meredith land

Down to earth, sweet, stylish, the words that came to mind when I first met Meredith Land. We see her every weeknight, on NBC 5 at 10 p.m., you know, the coolest, most intelligent anchorwoman on the local news… She’s been nominated for two Lone Star Emmy awards AND, most important, she is the supermom of two-year-old McCall. When she’s not on the air, she is spending time with her family in our beloved city, and here Meredith shares with us what she wears, loves and eats. Enjoy!

In heavy rotation- Deer Tick. Young, adorable band that played in Deep Ellum a few months ago

On Your Nightstand- “Bossypants” by Tina Fey. My younger sister mailed it to me. She lives in New York City and works all of the time. She said she read it in two sittings. I need some laughs!

Always in Your handbag- Sephora gloss, Hair ties that don’t wrinkle your hair (got them at Beyond Pilates studio) and “Dum Dums” (lollipops). My two-year-old calls them, “Bah Bah Bums” and they work when I am DESPERATE.

Go-to outfit- My GAP jeans are the most flattering. They just are. A little bigger in the waist and skinny in the legs. Soft tank tops from Anthropologie. Short J. Crew trench coat. Rainbow flip flops.

No brainer restaurant- La Duni. With or without kids. They have the best queso, chips, salads and margaritas.
