Fashion Week Daily reported yesterday that Howard and Cindy Rachofsky (picutered at left), local contemporary art collectors and hosts of the infamous Two by Two for AIDS and Art fundraiser (the tenth annual gala was recently celebrated at the Rachofsky House), will be awarded the amfAR Award of Courage along with Donna Karan and Liza Minelli. The couple have superheaded the highly regarded event since 1999 and have raised approximately $17 million for the contemporary art acquisition funds at the Dallas Museum of Art and for AIDS research and programs undertaken by amFAR. The honorees will celebrate at amfAR’s black-tie dinner and gala in New York on February 12 at Cipriani 42nd Street with an unofficial pre-party to New York’s Fashion Week. No doubt some of fashion’s finest will be amongst the crowd. Anna Wintour, Kenneth Cole, and Sotheby’s vice chairman Jamie NivenI will be presenting the awards. I wonder what will Cindy wear? Congrats to the Rachofsky’s!
