Am I the only one bothered by JCPenney‘s new back-to-school ad campaign in which the Plano-based company re-creates scenes from The Breakfast Club? Come on, people, this is a classic film, and you’ve tampered with it! I mean, I understand that it’s not Sixteen Candles we’re talking about here. That would be, like, totally wrong. (Jake Ryan forever!) But TBC didn’t deserve this. Did John Hughes approve? Does this mean I’m old? Do other children of the ’80s feel me on this one? Watch the commercial here and let me know if it’s as cringe-worthy as I think it is.
