Cru Wine Bar in West Village is holding a summer series called Wine Chats. Participants can taste up to five different glasses of chardonnay, pinot noir, and cabernet accompanied with appetizers. Tickets are $20 and space is limited for the 6 p.m. event.
Wednesday, August 12
Who knew a hatch green chiles were so hot? Blue Mesa Grill is hosting a series of dinners dedicated to the pepper. The Arlington, Addison, North Park, Plano, and Fort Worth locations will all plate up dishes dedicated to the seasonal pepper. For $16 per person, you can enjoy an elaborate, chile-inspired menu. There’s even a pineapple hatch margarita.

Henry’s Majestic is putting on a Hitchcock-inspired four-course dinner to honor the director’s 116th birthday. The menu has been created with cocktail pairings inspired by four of the most iconic Hitchcock films: Strangers on a Train, Rear Window, The Birds, and Psycho. The event costs $75 per person. The Dallas Museum of Art will stay open until 10 p.m. so that you can enjoy jazz music while you sip cocktails made from antique recipes, and take a tour of works by Gerald Murphy. Tickets start at $15.
Friday, August 14
If you’re the multitasking type, get your exercise and nourishment all in one with the Uptown Foodie Walk. Saunter through the streets of Uptown starting at The Rustic and work your way through the neighborhood’s most popular restaurants. Saturday, August 15
Deep Ellum Brewing Co.’s weekly brewery tour continues today. Head over to the Dallas-famous site to get the inside scoop on what makes the employees so “hoppy” to be there. Oh yeah, and there’s a beer tasting.
The Marketplace Garland serves as a monthly marketplace for those looking to get out of the regular farmers market rut. This European-style market is held in Garland’s downtown square from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors, bakers, and craftsmen sell fresh produce, and homemade goods. Visit their website for more information.

Four sous chefs and eight bartenders will be competing against one another to earn a spot at this year’s Chefs For Farmers Culinary Village at Lee Park. The Chefs for Farmers Mix-Off will take place at D.E.C. on Dragon and includes audience participation to determine the winners of each competition. The event runs from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased here.
