Say so long to Bijoux, the intimate spot in Inwood Village run by chef Scott Gottlich and his wife, and sommelier, Gina. The couple will close the restaurant on February 28, 2015.

The couple will take this time to focus on their other restaurant, The Second Floor Bistro, and explore the possibility of future projects.

More details coming.

Update: I just chatted with Bijoux chef/owner, Scott Gottlich. I asked him what he and his wife Gina plan to do after they close Bijoux on February 28.

NN: Was this your decision or were you forced out by a lease agreement?

SG: It’s time for us to take the next step in our career path and Bijoux has been a wonderful experience. Eight and a half years is a long time. Bijoux is a consuming project.

NN: Will you carry on with Second Floor?

SG: We’re involved with the Second Floor and will continue to be involved and this [closing Bijoux] will give us time to look at other options.

NN: Do you have any set plans for the future?

SG:  Nothing that is firm. People have brought me opportunities but I’ve never been able to move on them. It will be an exciting time for us. We are closing one chapter, but with the closing of one will be the opening of another. It’s been a wonderful experience and everything has an end and we decided we wanted to end on a strong note.
