It’s a great weekend to live in North Texas. Hopefully by now, you’ve gotten a chance to participate in a North Texas Beer Week event, but if not, there’s still lots more to do. If you’re not a beer guy/gal, don’t fret – meat’s also on the menu this weekend. Unfortunately, if you haven’t gotten tickets to Meat Fight, then you’re out of luck. Sorry. But check below for everything else! Have a great weekend.
FRIDAY
The Eco-Bus Tour is a bus ride sponsored by the North Texas Corporate Recycling Association, where passengers can talk green while drinking a beer. It’ll be at the Stacy Allen Center from 12-5 p.m. Tickets are $15 for NTCRA members and $35 for non-members.
Lakewood Brewing Company is bringing a minty twist to their imperial milk stout during the North Texas Beer Week festivities, over at Lark on the Park. The cask will be tapped at 6 p.m. It’s free, but you’re welcome to purchase additional beverage.
Deep Ellum Brewing Company will be having a dinner, hosted by i Fratelli Ristorante & Wine Bar, which features some of DEBC’s richer beers, like the Double Brown Stout, the Wealth and Taste, and the Cherry Chocolate Stout. It starts at 4 p.m., and tickets are $49.95.
Can’t get enough Game of Thrones in your life? It’s cool. I get it. Head over to Holy Grail Pub for a taste of Ommegang’s Take the Black Stout, created specifically for GoT. Tapping begins at 6 p.m.
Asador is hosting a Real Ale Beer Dinner, featuring Real Ale’s Brewmaster, Erik Ogershok, as he discusses the various beers at the event. The dinner is $55 and starts at 7 p.m. You can call or make a reservation on their website.
Finally, someone got it right. The Quixotic World is having what they call a “Pancakes and Booze Art Show,” which features over 75 Dallas artists, an all-you-can-eat pancake bar, body painting, and music by Miss CJ. Tickets are $5 and it all starts at 8 p.m. This could seriously be the coolest thing you do this weekend.
Cook Hall is hosting a Rahr Brewery beer dinner at 8 p.m., featuring several of Rahr’s concoctions like their Blonde Lager and Stormcloud IPA. Tickets are $55 per person.
SATURDAY
Check out Art Conspiracy’s fundraiser event, for artwork by several North Texas artists which can you bid on (the art, not the people), music by New Fumes and Zhora, food trucks, and local beer. It gig goes down at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10.
The Chili and Rib Cook Off is a fundraising event for the DREAM Fund, and will include chili cookers from around North Texas, a kids zone (for kids), and live music. There’s a $10 entry for sampling and beverages, and you’ll get to vote on your favorite. It’ll be at Addison Circle Park from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Pogo’s Wine and Spirits is celebrating their 2nd annual Champagne Festival. From 3 to 5 p.m., you’ll be able to sample several different champagnes, ALL FOR FREE. Definitely hop on this if you have a chance.
Cantina Laredo is featuring a four course tequila dinner, featuring Corazon tequila. Cocktail service starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $49.99 per person.
SUNDAY
Hard Rock Cafe’s Drag Brunch will be hosted by Alexis Rayn feature a performance by Chanel Champagne, if that gives you any sort of idea of what kind of day it will be. You’ll get to mix your own drinks at the Build Your Own Drink station, too. It starts at 11:30 a.m., and the cover is only $5. Check it out!
