Genaro Silva – the same man who brought you Genaro’s Tropical, Moctezuma’s, and Garmo’s – is back in the restaurant business. And this time, he’s bringing his Mexican food to 6465 E. Mockingbird Lane, Ste. 200.

Back in the day, Silva’s restaurants were hotspots for Mexican fine dining cuisine. Today, a press release says that Silva is bringing his magic back to Dallas with a Mix-Mex menu that has “an emphasis on seafood and lighter dishes.” The menu won’t have any lard or shortening, but it will have spicy salsa, Aztec garlic rice, black beans, beef, and fish. It should be open by late August/early September 2013 inside the Hillside Village Shopping Center. From the press release:

Expect to see “most requested” and traditional Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes as well as new items such as the El Cortez-Saffron Linguini with clams, mussels, shrimp, squid and snapper in Tequila Cream Sauce; Pez Espada-Grilled Swordfish Kebabs; Queso Flameado; Relleno Del Mar-a mild poblano filled with shrimp, crab, snapper and cheese lightly breaded in an Ancho Chile-Avocado Cream Sauce; Spinach and Seafood Enchiladas; Beef Tenderloin Dressed with Red Wine, Mushroom and Black Bean Cream Sauce; and Coconut Ice Cream with Kahlua. There will be a specialty cocktail menu with bottled beers and wine and House Made Sangria and Margaritas.  Average lunch prices will range from $10-$16 per person and average dinner prices will range from $14-$25.

The 4,000 square foot Genaro’s Mexican Cuisine will have a dining capacity of 120 persons inside, an exhibition kitchen, a 25-foot, two sided, indoor-outdoor, open-air bar with seating for 30, and a 20 foot by 75 foot covered patio with seating for 150.  The concept’s overall design will benefit from Silva’s additional expertise in real estate and construction at the helm of Genaro Silva Construction, LLC.  The restaurant will have wood floors throughout with dry stack stone accents and more than half of it encompassed with natural light from a series of expansive windows.
