If you haven’t already read Beatriz Terrazas’ article in our September issue, you should. She chronicles what it’s like when roles are reversed and she has to take care of her mom, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. It’s a great (and touching) read. But we’re not the only ones who think so. News comes from the American Society of Journalists and Authors that Terrazas’ article, “My Mother’s Brain,” has won first place for the category of first-person (personal experience or dramatic narrative).
