I’m sure a lot of folks are reading this story, about how parents are having to pay $500 fines if their DISD-enrolled kids are excessively truant, and say, “Good job!” But as someone who has more than once received notices that my child was on track for such discipline, even after turning in doctor’s notes and such to show the absences were excused, I worry about those who are unfairly accused and can’t afford to pay.
