As has been announced, Downtown Dallas is one of 50 pilot programs across the country for Keep America Beautiful’s Cigarette Litter Prevention Program. The program, which should have been called the Great America Butt Out, advises smokers to carry pocket ashtrays with them; “use a receptacle to dispose of cigarette butts, packaging and lighting material; and “be aware of local litter ordinances.” (I’m thinking enforcement is the lead front on the program, not education. Seems most people know trash is trash.) Anyway, the press conference is in about an hour at Pegasus Plaza if you’re bored.
