HAVE MERCY

|

A pet-loving FrontBurnervian is the first to tell me about Mercy, the poor pooch currently in the comforting arms of Operation Kindness. You can click on the site’s frontpage link for more info about the dog and the fundraiser tonight at Bellbottoms.

Apparently there’s some mystery about what exactly happened. One report has the dog running into a BBQ grill, tipping it over, then catching on fire. Another version involves more intentional animal cruelty, with the dog’s owner owing people money and those people coming after his dog. Developing.

Update: As I was typing the above, I got this e-mail: “A reward is now being offered in the animal torture of Mercy, the 10-month old pit bull mix that was severely burned last week. Operation Kindness and the Humane Society of the United States are offering a five thousand dollar reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever did this.” Sounds less and less like an accident.
