THUMBS UP to park department director FRANK WISE for a worthwhile idea-the suggestion that city employees who live outside Dallas move to the city. Park Board vice president RENE MARTINEZ quickly echoed the idea. State law prohibits actual residence requirements for most workers. Still, as Dallas’s tax base declines and many suburbs fatten, it’s a question worth pondering: do we all lose when city workers see Dallas as nothing but a paycheck?
