RE: ROSS AVE.

|

My post yesterday about the use of heavy equipment around DISD administrators drew this response from a law-knowing FBer:

My wife taught for disd for 8 years, in an inner city school. The people she taught with and principals by and large were really conscientious, hard-working, and caring. Generally… However, she had nothing but bad things to say about the admin people who would occasionally show up down there and just be insulting and pompous. It sounds like hyperbole, but I honestly think if you fired the lot and gave the money to principals, education would improve right away. We don’t have money for textbooks, but they do for car allowances…get real.

My own experience in dealing with DISD administrators (and of course there are exceptions) leads me to agree: it’s not hyperbole. It seems to me that the burden of proof ought to be entirely on the swarms of petty administrators at Ross Avenue: why they should be there at all? Year after year, they contribute to the embarrassment of our city and add nothing to the education of the students in the district. Testimonials to the contrary are welcome.
