Marfa Burrito — homemade everything, very small and very good. Pizza Foundation — handmade everything, local ingredients, perfect crust. Maiya’s — big-city modern Italian with locally sourced ingredients. The Museum of Electronic Wonders and Late Night Grilled Cheese — the name says it all.
Play Here: Hotel Paisano — great courtyard for a drink and relaxation. Padre’s — quirky, fun bar with live music and amazing patio. Monahans Sandhills State Park — on the way from Midland to Marfa, endless white sand dunes. Planet Marfa beergarden — they have a full size teepee.
If I Went Again: We’d visit the Chianti Hot Springs.
How Did You Get There From Dallas? Flew to Midland and drove 3 hours through the Davis Mountains to Marfa.
Other Tips For Fellow Travelers: The town doesn’t really get going until about 2 p.m., and there isn’t a lot for kids.
