Last year, Dallas designers and home décor enthusiasts alike welcomed the Kips Bay Decorator Show House to North Texas for its inaugural event. Our city’s most prestigious designers were invited to reimagine spaces in a storied Preston Hollow estate, which then opened to the public for a month-long viewing.
This decades-old charity event has roots in New York City but has in recent years expanded to other design-savvy cities, like Palm Beach. The proceeds from each Show House benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, which serves children and teens in New York. In Dallas, the event also supports Dwell with Dignity, a North Texas nonprofit that aims to change the lives of families experiencing poverty by transforming their homes, and The Crystal Charity Ball, an organization that supports and makes contributions to children’s charities in Dallas County.
The 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House’s location was just announced. Though the event will once again take place in Preston Hollow, this year’s estate has a different look and feel. The massive Georgian home, located at 5138 Deloache Avenue in the Sunnybrook Estates neighborhood, sits on nearly one and a half acres of pristinely pruned land.
Inside, 11,259 square feet of living space will offer ample opportunity for dozens of designers to make their mark. The home has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two half baths, two kitchens, multiple living areas, a sunroom, a wine cellar, and a theater.

The 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas Chairs are Jan Showers, Jean Lui, Chad Dorsey, and Steele Marcoux. Vice-Chairs are Trish Sheats and Laura Lee Falconer. Other participating designers will be announced as the event approaches.
The Show House will open its doors on September 24, 2021, and will remain open for one month. COVID-19 precautions will be in place, including required reservations, limited occupancies, and health checks for staff members.
5138 Deloache is expected to hit the market when the event wraps up and was last listed by Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s for $6.5 million.
